Vans Rowley Rapidweld Pro Shoes
Returning 20 years after its first debut, these Vans Rowley Rapidweld Pro Shoes pays homage to the early 2000’s design in an all black heritage colourway. Constructed using a modern seam-free technique, the uppers are made from a combination of breathable mesh and durable suede with cut out sections on the front of the toes and side panels. Signature side stripes have been cut from a synthetic material and layered over the mesh for signature branding, whilst a low-key ‘Vans Off The Wall’ vinyl label has been added to the top of the padded tongue with ‘[ROWLEY]’ text added underneath. Colour matched flat laces offer a secure fastening and the lace border is strengthened by suede and synthetic overlays. Throughout the inside of the shoe and across the underside of the tongue, a soft textile lining has been added for comfort and an UltraCushHD sockliner supplies protection from high impacts. Completed by a tough black rubber midsole with extra attention added around the front of the toes, this style has the Vans signature rubber waffle outsole which supplies reliable skate-focused grip across a variety of terrains.
Designed in celebration of the original Geoff Rowley pro model, embossed onto the back of the heel a ‘66/99’ graphic has been added to highlight the founding year of Vans and the year that the first Rowley footwear model was released. Additionally, the ‘19’ in the colourway stands for the latest reissue. Hailing from Liverpool, Geoff Rowley was awarded ‘Skater of The Year’ in 2000 and resides in California where he rides for Vans, practises his interests in conservation and runs his own recently announced skate deck company Free Dome.
